Movies at the Historic Milton Theatre
By Kathy Sperl-BellWhat a great idea! Movies at the Milton Theatre and there are some great movies coming up this month. There’s a great mix of recent releases, many of which were Oscar nominated. On May 5th, the feature is Julie and Julia, one of my favorites of the past year.
The old Milton Theatre, once a celebrated, state-of-the-art, art deco movie house, was rescued from near ruin in 2000 and has been revitalized to operate, once again, as a showcase for the year’s most popular movies after their release in digital format, and for those classic films of yesteryear. The community enjoys “Movies in Milton”-a monthly series of movies screenings at the Theatre- and collaborations with area film societies and independent movie producers to premier and promote their film programs.
